COLDEX® is a highly effective temporary skin substitute with unique absorptive properties for the treatment of burns and injuries and the prevention of wound contamination. COLDEX® is especially recommended for all fresh large area wounds when primary wound closure is not possible or undesirable as for instance complicated fractures with extensive damage to the soft tissue, after fasciotomies, infected injury wounds, chronic ulsers, 3rd degree burns, etc...

Indications for Coldex® application:

• all skin defects where primary closure is not possible or desirable, for example fractures with severe soft tissue injury, after fasciotomies etc.

• infected open wounds.

• acute and chronic osteomyelitis (with exposed bone and soft tissue damage).

• chronic ulcers (arterial, venous and mixed), pressure ulcers and radiation defects.
  
  
• wound covering after guillotine amputations.
  
  
• 3rd degree burns after removal of necrotic tissue, pending delayed primary skin coverage.

Coldex® has an absorption capacity of approximately five times its own weight.
