Characteristics:

• Spongy and porous structure: expands light when tampon is moistened
• Is well tolerated
• No tissue irritation with a duration of stay of less than 24 hours
• Not fibrous
• In wet state, the tampon (due to expansion) exerts a supporting pressure on the vaginal wall

Indications:

• For mild to moderate symptoms of unwanted urine loss
• For prolapse complaints to bridge the period until the operation
